This is a fabulous opportunity for a family wanting an adult Portuguese Water Dog. Laika is well trained, adaptable, easy going and an absolute pleasure to live with. She will be three years old on 20 July and the best birthday present she can get is a great family willing to shower her with attention.
She has earned fourteen points and 1 major towards her AKC championship. She is being rehomed as a companion/family pet.
Laika competed in a Nutmeg Club water trial although due to a handler error she did not qualify.
Laika's hips were awarded the classification of good and her elbows normal by the OFA. Her eyes have been CERFed annually with clear evaluations. DNA results for Progressive Retinol Atrophy (Optigen) and for Storage Disease (GM-1) are normal. She is entered in the PWDCA Health and Litter Database.
Laika has been raised with cats and children. Due to a serious family illness Laika is in need of a new home. Her temperament would be great for a Therapy Dog, family companion or performance placement.
