This placement was a fabulous opportunity for a family who wanted an adult Portuguese Water Dog. Due to a family illness this lovely girl with 14 points and 1 major had to be rehomed. Laika was well trained, adaptable, easy going and an absolute pleasure to live with.
Laika competed in a Nutmeg Club water trial although due to a handler error she did not qualify.
Laika's hips were awarded the classification of good and her elbows normal by the OFA. Her eyes were CERFed annually with clear evaluations. DNA results for Progressive Retinol Atrophy (Optigen) and for Storage Disease (GM-1) are normal. She is entered in the PWDCA Health and Litter Database.
Laika was raised with cats and children.
